Through my own elopement to Iceland, I discovered just how freeing and transformative a non-traditional wedding can be. It showed me that a wedding doesn’t need to follow a rulebook—you can split it across multiple days, include just the two of you or your closest circle, and shape it into something deeply personal, whether minimalist or elaborate, luxurious or laid-back.
Your day should reflect you, not tradition.
That belief is the heart of how I work as both a photographer and planner.
Why the Alps Are Made for Non-Traditional Weddings
The French Alps, especially Chamonix and Megeve—where I live and work year-round—are the perfect backdrop for couples who want to do things differently.
I’ve lived in the Alps for many years, first in the Italian Alps and now in the French Alps, and I’ve had the privilege of serving as the official photographer for the Four Seasons Hotel Megeve, capturing luxury weddings and intimate celebrations in truly breathtaking settings. For me, the Alps aren’t just a destination—they’re part of my story.
Chamonix vs. Megeve: What Makes Each Unique?
Chamonix is much more than a seasonal ski resort. It’s a thriving, lived-in mountain town with year-round energy, culture, and experiences. That makes it ideal for couples looking for an authentic Alps elopement or wedding with more than just pretty views—it offers atmosphere, accessibility, and flexibility across all seasons.
Megeve, by contrast, is more intimate and refined. Tucked away from large crowds, it’s perfect for those dreaming of a luxury elopement in the Alps, with upscale accommodations, fine dining, and charm at every turn.
Beyond Chamonix: My Alpine Experience
I’ve also worked across other iconic Alpine destinations—Verbier, Courchevel, and the Dolomites—each offering its own unique character. Whether it’s the cinematic drama of the Dolomites or the elevated elegance of Courchevel, I have unique insights to help you choose a location that matches your style, values, and vision.

At 3,842 meters, this iconic summit offers cinematic, otherworldly views. Perfect for a symbolic ceremony with epic scale.
Plan d’Aiguille, The mid station, also provides more wild scenery, and is vast enough to have private space for vows and pictures. A short hike to Lac Blue from the mid station is pretty special too.
3. Mer de Glace Glacier
For the adventurous—accessible via the photogenic little red train- Montenvers, or by hiking. This glacial location is wild and beautiful, and also boasts a charming restaurant to have a bite to eat and enjoy the view! (Le Refuge de Montenvers)
4.Brévent & Flégère: Panoramic Vistas Just a Lift Away
